At Differentworks,
We build the interfaces that help people live more independently
From wearable intelligence that unlocks independence,to soft robotics that restore mobility, to materials that protect dignity from infancy onward— our work meets humans where life happens.
Our vision is to change the way products today are created and consumed. To enable this, we are building a community of global thought-provokers in our bid to integrate different perspectives.
Our goal is not to build a large company—on the contrary, we aim to create a bold, agile, and conscious business, shaped by the very differences that make us unique.
As a female- founded startup,
we are a global team inspired by the spirit, resilience, and creativity of our Sri Lankan heritage.
Different Perspectives , Shared Vision
My motivation is to re-imagine how systems shape our lives – so that design isn’t just about what we make but how people experience the world. Great ideas designed in isolation from the systems they enter, the people they touch and the consequences they create isn’t forming a world - a society that’s sustainable. Design needs to be part of the infrastructure and that is where our origins lie. We want to be part of designing systems with care so outcomes can change – after all we are stewards of what comes next as a human collective

Becoming a mother opened my eyes to the quiet gaps in the systems we rely on every day—gaps that too often leave women and families navigating life alone. I co-founded Differentworks because I wanted to change that. To build solutions that don’t just work, but truly support wellbeing, that honor the rhythms of women’s lives, and that let people thrive, not just manage. It’s personal, it’s human, and it’s why we do what we do.
